Later in the story it could be seen that the original narrator, that is, the author gets puzzled up with the long-winded stories of Jim Smiley and his frog. He tries to escape but is again held by Wheeler to listen to another tale. From this it could be made out that, Wheeler wants people to listen to his stories.
